A 34.2-meter-long luxury yacht anchored in a bay on Thailand’s famous holiday island of Phuket has become unusable after a fire broke out.

A fire broke out for an unknown reason on Monday on the super yacht worth millions of dollars anchored in Chaong Bay of Thailand’s touristic Phuket Island. While the flames were noticed by other boats, emergency ships of the Thai Navy intervened in the fire. It was learned that no one was on board the superyacht and the fire could be brought under control in 3.5 hours. The 34.2-meter superyacht became unusable after the fire.

Phuket Maritime Office Manager Natchapong Pranit stated in a statement that the superyacht, which was learned to be French-made, was operated for rent on the island, and that the fact that no one was on board during the fire delayed the intervention. The superyacht, whose hull was completely burned to ashes, was towed to the harbor by Coast Guard teams, while an investigation was launched into the cause of the fire.
