Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that the Narkoçelik-20 operation was carried out against an organized criminal organization trying to ship drugs from South America to Turkey. While 373 kilograms of cocaine was seized in operations in Istanbul and Bursa, 9 suspects were detained.
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, in a statement made on his social media account, stated that upon the determination that the drugs sent from South America to Turkey were hidden in a container in Bursa’s Gemlik port, the “Narkoçelik-20” operation was organized in Istanbul and Bursa with the support of Istanbul Intelligence Branch Directorate and Bursa Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch Directorate.
While 9 suspects were arrested in the operation against the organized crime organization, 373 kilograms of cocaine were seized.
Regarding the operation, Yerlikaya said, “I congratulate our Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and our heroic police officers who carried out the operations. May God bless your feet. The prayers of our nation are with you.”
