Tens of thousands of Muslims celebrated Eid al-Adha in occupied East Jerusalem despite intense Israeli restrictions and harassment. Approximately 40 thousand Muslims performed the Eid al-Adha prayer in Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first Qibla of Muslims. Palestinians, who were not allowed inside by Israeli forces, prayed around Al-Aqsa Mosque. Due to the restrictions imposed by the Israeli police, the congregation dispersed after the prayer.
