The US Geological Survey (USGS) announced that the 7.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded at a depth of 28 kilometers.
A tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake that occurred at midnight local time in the west of Peru’s Atiquipa region.
No loss of life and property was reported in the first statements.
