Cyclone Chido hits Mozambique after devastating Mayotte and the Comoros.
According to South African broadcaster SABC, the cyclone has caused at least three deaths.
The cyclone made landfall near Pemba, the capital of Cabo Delgado province, bringing torrential rain and powerful winds of up to 200 km/h. This has resulted in damage to many buildings and power outages in some areas. However, the cyclone weakened as it moved inland. Authorities are continuing efforts to mitigate its impact.
