Egypt records a significant increase in Russian wheat imports during the first half of the 2024/25 agricultural season (July-December), securing its leading position.

According to data from Rusagrotrans, Egypt imported 5.3 million tons of Russian wheat during this period, marking a 1.8-fold increase compared to the previous year.

Egypt has become the largest export market for Russian wheat, followed by other major importers such as Bangladesh (2.14 million tons), Turkey (2.08 million tons), Algeria (1.66 million tons), and Kenya (1.35 million tons).

During the first half of the 2024/25 harvest year, Russian wheat exports will reach a record level of 29.4 million tons, 1.7 million tons more than the previous season’s record. This increase solidifies Russia’s strong position in global wheat exports.
