Six babies died in a fire at a children’s hospital in New Delhi, the capital of India.
A fire broke out in a children’s hospital in India. In the capital New Delhi, 6 of the 12 babies being treated in the hospital, which was engulfed by flames at night, died.
The teams stated that the 6 rescued babies were transferred to different hospitals and 1 of the children was connected to a respirator. Police said the owner of the hospital has fled.
Atul Garg, director of the Delhi fire brigade, stated that the fire spread rapidly when the oxygen cylinders in the hospital exploded. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “The cause of the incident is being investigated. Whoever is responsible for this negligence will not go unpunished.”
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “The fire tragedy at a hospital in Delhi is heartbreaking.”
