Another decision concerning millions of pensioners was published in the Official Gazette after the 15 percent discount applied to pensioners in social facilities of public institutions and organizations until the end of the year. Real and legal persons engaged in intercity bus transportation will give a 20 percent discount on the tariff to those who certify that they are retired. The decision is effective as of today.
New regulations followed by millions of retirees are coming into effect. Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan recently announced new supports for millions of pensioners from health to travel, from communication to transportation. In his speech at the “Social Security Week Meeting” program on May 17, Işıkhan announced that pensioners will benefit from public guesthouses, teacher’s houses, social facilities and guesthouses in all provinces with a 15 percent discount like public servants.
Another step was taken in special discounts for pensioners.
How much discount will be given to pensioners on intercity buses?
The provision for real and legal persons engaged in intercity bus transportation to make a 20 percent discount on the tariff for those who certify that they are retired has entered the regulation.
According to a provisional article added to the regulation amending the road transport regulation published in today’s issue of the Official Gazette, to be applied until the end of 2024, those who declare and prove that they are retired with information and documents will be given a 20 percent discount on the tariff notified to the Ministry of Transport on passenger tickets to be issued.
Holders of road transport B1 and D1 authorization certificates who do not comply with this provision will be given 5 warnings for each violation.
