Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning responded to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who stated at the Shangri-La Dialogue Summit in Singapore that China was sending arms to Russia. Ning stated that 60 percent of the weapons and parts going to Russia come from the US and western countries.

Ukrainian President Zelensky had stated at the Shangri-La Dialogue Summit that China was sending arms to Russia. Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ning stated that China did not give arms to Russia and said, “China is neither the creator nor the intervening party in the Ukrainian crisis. We have always been in favor of promoting peace and dialogue. China does not supply weapons to warring parties and strictly controls dual-use products, which are widely recognized by the international community. Normal trade between China and Russia is in line with World Trade Organization (WTO) rules and market principles and does not target any third party. Data shows that more than 60 percent of Russia’s imports of weapons components and dual-use goods come from the United States and other Western countries,” the statement said.
