Bovine and ovine sacrifice prices
Expected price range for small ruminants;
Prices of rams, sheep, lambs and goats between 8 thousand TL and 25 thousand TL,
Bovine sacrifice prices vary between 80,000 TL and 300,000 TL.
Speaking to Milliyet, Özgür Koç, a sheep and goat breeder, said that the prices of sheep and goat sacrifices currently vary between 10,000 TL and 20,000 TL.
Koç said, “Our price varies according to the size and weight of the animal. There is no fixed price. With the increase in the price of meat, our sacrifice prices have doubled this year.”
Cemal Altın, who sells sacrifices, said the following:
“Our prices for small cattle are between 10 thousand and 20 thousand TL. If the animal weighs 35 kilos, an average of 17 kilos of meat comes out and the price is 10 thousand TL. In a 50 kilo animal, about 25 kilos of meat comes out, this is 18 thousand TL. I buy and sell. I make a profit of about 500 TL in an animal.”
Emre Seçgin, who sells cattle, said, “Our prices start from 100 thousand TL and go up to 250 thousand TL. 100 thousand TL is about 330 kilos of meat in a sacrifice, and 800-850 kilos of meat in a sacrifice of 250 thousand TL. We sell with 20 percent profit,” he said.
Metin İşlekter, who is engaged in animal husbandry, said, “We have sacrifices for 120 thousand TL and 250 thousand TL. The price changes with the weight,” he said.
Mesut Akbaş, a small cattle breeder in Kars, said that prices start from 12 thousand TL and go up to 22 thousand TL.
