There has been an increase in cases of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) in Sivas in recent summer months. Sivas Governorate warned citizens about ticks in a statement made on its social media account and stated that the treatment of 2 probable and 3 definite patients diagnosed with CCHF continues in Sivas Cumhuriyet University Medical Faculty Hospital Infectious Diseases Clinic.

“Trouser cuffs should be tucked into socks”

In the statement, it was mentioned that the trouser cuffs should be tucked into the socks and said, “Clothes covering the body should be worn when going to tick-risk areas such as fields, vineyards, gardens, forests and picnic areas, and trouser cuffs should be tucked into socks. Light-colored clothes should be preferred so that ticks can be easily seen on clothes. When returning from tick-risk areas, the body should be checked for ticks, including behind the ears, armpits, groin and behind the knees.”

“Do not touch with bare hands”
