Staff, technicians and physicians working in the Angiography unit at Mehmet Akif Inan Training and Research Hospital were allegedly involved in a major corruption. In the secret investigation initiated by the Provincial Directorate of Health, it was determined that unused materials with a value of at least 100 thousand TL were invoiced to each patient, and then these materials were stolen from the warehouse and sold to private hospitals and abroad.
During a night raid on the hospital as part of the investigation, it was revealed that millions of liras worth of materials were stored in secret warehouses. However, it was determined that these materials were not included in the warehouse records and that the materials were invoiced to doctors who had nothing to do with the incident.
Deputy Chief Physician and Cardiology Unit Supervisor Specialist. Dr. Ö.F.Ç. was assigned to another hospital after the investigation, but the decision was allegedly canceled. It was also alleged that the chief physician tried every means to close the file and mobbed physicians and staff who opposed the corruption and testified.
