Preparing for a second wave of reforms based on the Ankara criteria, the AK Party will evaluate Turkey’s situation. AK Party sources announced the steps to be taken in the new period.
The AK Party, which has taken various steps to compensate for the loss of votes, will cooperate with academic think tanks independent of politics to identify the problems of society.
The AK Party is expected to present objective studies based on scientific and sociological research by academics.
AK Party Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala will lead the process. Last week, Ala said, “Multi-domain simultaneous reforms with fine craftsmanship are on the way.” The study, which will identify qualitative problems, was also supported at the consultation meeting held in Kızılcahamam last week. The party organization advised to act with the motto “No one can be exempt from criticism in the eyes of the public”.
The information from AK Party sources is as follows;
- Academic think tanks will identify problems
- The diagnosis will not be made by someone with a political party identity
- Criticism of the President will also be included in the reports
- Reforms will be made with social consensus
- To be carried out within the framework of the law and justice system
“We must prevent decay and get rid of rot”
On the other hand, it was learned that the founders of the party listed the reasons for the loss of votes at the consultation meeting as “Loss of values, loss of the spirit of the cause, unethical behavior and corruption spread to the organization and spread of decay, delayed intervention in time, turning a blind eye to wrongdoings”. The founders said, “We must urgently protect our values, virtues and morals and prioritize a politics based on them. We must prevent decay and get rid of the rotten ones.”
The process will be managed under the leadership of President Erdoğan
Noting that the society has started to move away from the AK Party, it was demanded that the process of change and the solution of problems should not be left to the headquarters management alone, and that a “Consultation Committee” should be established under the leadership of President Erdoğan to manage the process, make suggestions and follow up. According to Türkiye Newspaper, the founders and former staff of the party said, “There has been a decline in the votes, there is a team that carries out this work, if a ticket needs to be cut, it will be cut to them. These are natural things. This needs to be done in a healthy way. Citizens are looking at the essence. The headquarters should take responsibility. A change should be made without breaking or spilling anything.”
