BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici announced his proposals regarding the lowest pension. Stating that they will support steps to improve the situation of retirees, Destici said that increasing the lowest pension to 12,500 TL will not be enough and said, “The lowest pension should be over 17 thousand TL.”
Mustafa Destici, Chairman of the Grand Unity Party (BBP), held a press conference at the headquarters of his party. Making statements on the issues on the agenda, Destici made a proposal for the lowest pension, which has been applied as 10 thousand TL since January 2024.
Referring to the news that the government plans to increase the lowest pension to 12,500 liras, he noted that they support the steps to be taken to improve the situation of retirees with the announcement of inflation rates on July 3, but they never find the improvement subject to the news sufficient.
Destici argued that the lowest pension should not be below the current minimum wage and stated that “this mistake and injustice should be eliminated” in July. Destici stated that the lowest pension should be above 17 thousand liras.
Referring to the problems of the tradesmen, Destici stated that the tradesmen are the segment most affected by the unfavorable conditions of the economy. Destici stated that the government should form a working group on the problems of the tradesmen and the economic measures to be taken should be decided upon.
