Another murder came to light on Müge Anlı. Şaban Ataş’s body was found on live broadcast.
ATV’s “Müge Anlı ile Tatlı Sert” program shed light on the murder of Şaban Ataş (52), who lived in Muğla Seydikemer and went missing on March 22. After Ataş’s disappearance, his family filed a missing person’s application with concern, but he was not found by the security forces. The family then applied to the program “Müge Anlı ile Tatlı Sert”.
In the program, Ataş’s ex-wife Emine Karabulut confessed the murder to Müge Anlı after the live broadcast. Karabulut said that Burhanettin Öztürk strangled Şaban with a rope during breakfast and took the body away. Upon this confession, Seydikemer District Police Department was informed.
Müge Anlı’s reporter found the lifeless body of Şaban Ataş following Emine’s description. Police officers arrived at the scene and found a male body covered with stones. After the body was identified as Ataş’s, it was sent to Muğla Forensic Medicine Institution for an autopsy.
Emine Karabulut and Burhanettin Öztürk, who were in Istanbul, and one more suspect were detained. The investigation is ongoing.
While this development caused great surprise and sadness in the society, Müge Anlı’s program was once again instrumental in illuminating a murder.
