On Mallorca Island in Spain, 4 people died and 16 people were injured when the floor collapsed on the terrace of a two-storey restaurant.
The floor collapsed on the terrace of a 2-storey restaurant in the touristic Mallorca, the largest of the Balearic islands in Spain.
Health teams were dispatched to the region. In the statement made by the emergency service, it was stated that 4 people died and 16 people were injured as a result of the collapse. The injured were hospitalized.
“The terrace probably collapsed due to excessive weight,” local police told the media. Police also stated that the cause of the collapse is being investigated.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez expressed his condolences to the relatives of those who lost their lives and wished urgent healing to the injured with a post on his social media account.
