Yenal Kılıç, who entered the earthquake cabin tested in the 5-storey building demolished in Hatay and remained under the rubble for 5 hours, survived the test, which caused reactions, without even a bloody nose.
In Hatay, which suffered great destruction in the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, the demolition of buildings whose court process has been completed continues. During the demolition of a 5-storey building on Cumhuriyet Street in Antakya district, the robustness test performed by the company producing earthquake cabinets with live people caused the reaction of the demolition team. Yenal Kılıç, the company responsible, was the one who entered the cabin he produced to test the robustness of the earthquake cabin. Kılıç, who stayed under the collapsed building for about 5 hours, survived the test without even a bloody nose.
“I was scared during the test, anyone who says they were not scared is lying”
Stating that the company that carried out the demolition did not know that the test was carried out with a live person and that he expressed this trial on his own initiative, company Responsible Yenal Kılıç said, “We came to Hatay to carry out the demolition test. We tried the 4th demolition we have done with a mannequin. In this trial, I entered the cabin myself. I made my own entrance to the cabin, but no demolition team was aware of this. It was a decision I took on my own initiative. The reason I did this was to better introduce this cabin to people. We did it to see how we can take precautions for future earthquakes. I was scared while trying this, anyone who says they weren’t would be lying. According to me, it was a risk that had to be taken. I was both in the cabin and under the cave-in for about 5 hours. I did not get any damage as long as I stayed in the cave-in. I only hit my arm in the cabin and there was pain because there was pressure on the back, but thank God my body integrity was not broken.”
