The damage of the fire that broke out in the forest area in Bursa Uludağ University Görükle Campus has emerged. While 766 decares of forest was damaged, 131 decares of harvested area burned.
Around 14.30 yesterday, the damage of the forest fire on the campus of Uludağ University was revealed. More than 40 ground vehicles, 4 helicopters, 2 airplanes and more than a thousand personnel managed to bring the fire under control. The extent of the fire, where cooling works are still ongoing, has also come to light.
766 decares of forest area was damaged on the campus. 131 decares of harvested land burned. At the Beekeeping Development and Application Center (AGAM), 30 beehives turned to ashes. At the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, 10 tons of wheat, 20 tons of dry alfalfa, 30 tons of hay, 1 tractor, and animal shelters were damaged. All the animals living in the farm were also rescued.
At the Faculty of Agriculture, 80 decares of wheat fields, 2 thousand trees including apple, pear, quince, peach, persimmon, hazelnut and olive trees were lost to the flames. The roof of the student training practice building in the garden facilities was damaged. At Mennan Pasinli Vocational School (Equine Studies), the protection bars of 2 paddock areas and a thousand bales of alfalfa were also burned to ashes.
