It was reported that the German government approved arms exports worth 7.48 billion euros between January 1 and June 18.
According to the German News Agency (DPA), responding to a parliamentary question from the Saharan Wagenknecht Alliance-For Understanding and Justice (BSW) party, the government announced that it approved the sale of 7.48 billion euros in arms and military equipment between January 1 and June 18.
This figure represents a 30 percent increase compared to the first half of 2023.
It was stated that about 65 percent of the export approval, or 4.88 billion euros, was for Ukraine, which Germany supports against Russia.
After Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, India and Qatar were the countries with the highest number of arms export approvals.
The German government had approved the sale of approximately 12.2 billion euros worth of arms and military equipment abroad in 2023.
