The government of Ghana has unveiled its digital transformation strategy, aiming to use digital technology as a key lever for the country’s socio-economic development.
In a statement, the Ministry of Communication and Digitization emphasized that the policy aims to make digital technologies a powerful driver of inclusive development, poverty reduction, and increased prosperity for all Ghanaians.
The Minister highlighted that the digital transformation roadmap focuses on five key areas of intervention:
- Entrepreneurship
- Digital Skills
- Digital Government
- Universal Access
- Emerging Technologies
As part of this plan, the government also intends to establish a $5 million fund to support technological innovation in the country. This fund will contribute to various projects aimed at accelerating digitalization and strengthening Ghana’s digital infrastructure.
