Google, owned by Alphabet, will lay off 100 employees from its Cloud unit.

It was announced that Google will lay off at least 100 employees from various teams in the cloud unit. According to reports based on internal correspondence, the layoffs include sales, operations, engineering, consulting and “go-to-market” strategy positions. A Google spokesperson told Reuters that the company will continue to invest in critical areas of the business as it continues to evolve its business to meet customer priorities and the opportunities ahead. Google also laid off hundreds of employees in January. The move is seen as a reflection of economic uncertainty in the technology and media sectors.
