In Başiskele district of Kocaeli, special operations teams organized an operation after a person took to the streets with a pump-action shotgun.
The incident occurred on Kurdoğlu Street in Körfez Neighborhood of Başiskele district. According to the information obtained, Ali Ç. (24) went out on the street with a shotgun. Citizens who saw the person on the street with a shotgun in his hand reported the situation to 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the notification, police, health and special operations teams were dispatched to the scene. The teams, who arrived at the scene in a short time, applied security measures and closed the street to pedestrian and vehicle traffic. The person who was tried to be persuaded to drop the gun said that he would not drop the gun without giving an interview to journalists. After about 4 hours of effort, the person was persuaded by the negotiator and handed over his weapon.
Police launched an investigation into the incident.
