A person who was targeted by scammers in Manavgat wanted to send all his money in the bank to the suspect on the phone, but the bank officer and the police intervened in the situation
In the incident that occurred in Manavgat district of Antalya, a young girl called the District Police Department and said that her father Mehmet Keskin’s phone was busy for more than 2 hours, that he had a large amount of money in a bank branch and that he suspected that he had been defrauded. The teams of Manavgat District Security Directorate, who took action with the young girl’s report, went to the bank branch in a short time. The police teams caught Mehmet Keskin entering the bank branch with the phone in his ear and made great efforts to convince him that the person on the phone was a fraudster.
It was learned that Mehmet Keskin, who was convinced that he had been defrauded by bank officials and police teams, came to the bank once again a short time ago and sent money from his checking account. It was learned that Keskin said that he sent the money to his cousin after the employee at the bank teller who was suspicious of Keskin’s situation warned him. It was stated that Keskin, who was learned to have sent 10 thousand TL in his account to the fraudsters in the first place, came back to the bank branch after a while. ‘Are you sending alms’ they said.
Mehmet Keskin, who realized that he was defrauded thanks to the police and bank officials when he was about to send all the money in his term account to the fraudsters, said, “The people who called on the phone said that they were police officers, that our identities were copied and a line was issued to us, and that all the identities of my family were copied. They told me to take leave from work and send your money to the IBAN we will give you. I have been dealing with them for 3 hours. I sent 10 thousand liras. They told me to send the whole money, are you sending alms?”
