Health workers travel from district to district with a mobile vehicle for ‘early diagnosis in cancer’ In Düzce, health workers who go to villages and district centers with a mobile cancer screening vehicle conduct cancer screening and inform citizens for early diagnosis and treatment.

Within the framework of the ‘National Cancer Screening Program’ initiated by the Ministry of Health across the country, the Cancer Early Diagnosis Screening and Training Center (KETEM) teams, which work with the slogan ‘Early diagnosis saves lives’ by Düzce Provincial Health Directorate, travel around all districts, especially in the city center, to save lives with early diagnosis in cancer. One team went to Yığılca district center and one team went to Yörük village of the center and performed free breast cancer, cervical cervix and colon cancer screenings for citizens in the Mobile Cancer Screening vehicle. While the health professionals directed the citizens who were deemed risky as a result of the screening to health institutions and followed them up, the citizens also showed great interest in cancer screenings.

Düzce Provincial Health Director Dr. Yasin Yılmaz said, “For screening tests, our teams conduct screenings from time to time in the center and districts. The aim is early diagnosis saves lives. Screenings are carried out for breast cancer in women between the ages of 30 and 65 and for HBV between the ages of 30 and 45. We also provide colon cancer screenings for women and men between the ages of 50 and 70. In addition to these studies, KETEM vehicle was assigned in our district. This vehicle is a mobile service vehicle with a mammography device. This device plays a very effective role in breast cancer screening.”

Citizens who came for screening said, “Our state brought this service to our feet and provided this opportunity. We are very grateful to those who brought this service to our feet, may our state exist.”
