In some states of India, 81 people have lost their lives due to the hot weather that has been effective in recent weeks.
According to national media reports, the heat wave continues to affect many cities in the country where thermometers hover above 49 degrees Celsius.
In Odisha province, 30 people died due to heat stroke as of June 3. In Uttar Pradesh state, 33 election officials died in the line of duty on June 2. Six people died in Bihar and 12 in Rajasthan due to extreme heat.
An all-time high temperature of 52.9 degrees Celsius was recorded in the capital New Delhi on May 29.
