“I will accept the outcome of this trial,” US President Joe Biden said after a jury found his son Hunter Biden guilty in a trial in which he was accused of buying a gun while under the influence of drugs.

US President Joe Biden made statements after his son Hunter Biden was found guilty by a jury in a trial in which he was accused of buying a gun while under the influence of drugs. “As I said last week, I am the President, but I am also a father. Jill and I love our son very much and we are proud of where he is today. Many families who have supported their loved ones’ struggles with addiction understand the sense of pride in seeing a loved one come through to the other side, and to see them so strong and resilient in recovery.”
“As I said last week, I will accept the outcome of this case and respect the judicial process as Hunter considers his appeal. Jill and I will always stand by Hunter and the rest of our family with our love and support. Nothing will ever change that.”

“I am disappointed”

Hunter Biden said he was “disappointed” to be found guilty but “grateful” for the love of his family.

Hunter Biden’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, said in a statement that they are “naturally disappointed” by the verdict but will continue to “pursue all legal remedies available to Hunter.” “Hunter is grateful for the love and support of his family throughout everything he has been through in his recovery, including this case,” Lowell said.

The jury found Hunter Biden guilty of all charges

After a 3-hour deliberation, the jury found Hunter Biden guilty on all counts of lying to a federally licensed gun dealer, making false statements when purchasing a gun, and illegally possessing a gun for 11 days.
The jury’s verdict marks the first time a family member of a sitting president has been convicted. Hunter Biden’s crimes predate Biden’s presidency. Hunter Biden could face up to 25 years in prison and a fine of up to 750 thousand dollars, but will likely receive a much lesser sentence as a first-time offender.
On the other hand, Biden had previously announced that he would not pardon his son Hunter Biden’s sentence.
