In a US poll, 72 percent of respondents said they believe US President Joe Biden does not have the “mental and cognitive health to serve as president.”
The debate about Biden’s health continues after the first live debate on the night of June 27 for the presidential elections in November.
According to a CBS News/You Gov poll released today, 72 percent of Americans believe Biden does not have the “mental and cognitive health to serve as president.”
The poll pointed out that 46 percent of those who believe that Biden should withdraw from the presidential election for health reasons are Democratic voters.
In the same poll, 50 percent answered “yes” and 49 percent answered “no” to the question of whether Republican candidate Donald Trump has the mental and cognitive health necessary for the presidency.
The first live debate sparked criticism
In the US, Democratic Party Biden and his Republican rival Trump, who are competing for the presidential elections to be held on November 5, shared their trump cards in the first live broadcast debate on CNN on the night of June 27.
Although Trump did not have a clear advantage over his rival throughout the program, Biden could not perform in a way to allay concerns about his age in his second term candidacy, and was subjected to intense criticism after the program.
While discussions within the Democrats flared that Biden should withdraw from the nomination, Republican Chip Roy, a member of the House of Representatives, announced that Vice President Kamala Harris was preparing a bill to call for President Biden’s impeachment using the “25th Amendment to the Constitution”.
