Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office took action after a television program claimed that Dilan Polat, who was arrested within the scope of a criminal organization investigation, was not in prison.
The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office initiated an ex officio investigation into the allegation on the charge of “publicly disseminating misleading information”.
What happened?
On November 1, 2023, 24 suspects, including Dilan Polat and her husband Engin Polat, were detained in operations organized in 6 Istanbul-based cities on and after November 1, 2023.
While 16 of the suspects, including Dilan Polat, Engin Polat and Sıla Doğu, were arrested on November 5, 2023, a judge ordered the appointment of trustees to 27 companies.
