A fire broke out in the engine part of the metrobus heading towards Cevizlibağ in Küçükçekmece. While the passengers on the metrobus and at the stop were evacuated, the fire was extinguished by fire brigades in a short time. No one was killed or injured in the fire, and there were short-term disruptions in the services.
According to the information obtained, smoke rose from the engine of the metrobus heading towards Cevizlibağ. A fire broke out in the vehicle arriving at Florya stop. As the fire grew in a short time, smoke covered the area. While the attendants at the stop tried to fight the fire with fire extinguishers, the passengers in the vehicle and at the stop were immediately evacuated. Upon notification, fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene.
While the teams quickly reached the area and started working to extinguish the fire, there were disruptions in metrobus services. While the fire was extinguished in a short time, no one was killed or injured. The damaged metrobus was removed from the scene with the help of a tow truck. Metrobus services also returned to normal.
Muhammed Nurkısa said, “There was a slight fire in the metrobus. Evacuation teams and fire brigade came. They extinguished it quickly. Passengers were evacuated and traffic was opened.”
