Microsoft Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Satya Nadella visited Malaysia as part of his Southeast Asia tour to promote the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) technology. During the visit, Nadella said that Microsoft will invest $2.2 billion in Malaysia over the next four years to grow its cloud and AI services, the largest investment in Malaysia’s 32-year history.
This investment includes building cloud and AI infrastructure, providing 200,000 people with AI skills and supporting the country’s developers. Microsoft is also partnering with the Malaysian government to establish a national AI Center of Excellence and improve the country’s cybersecurity capabilities. These steps will strengthen Malaysia’s technological infrastructure and support the development of local talent.
