Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Industry and Technology, said: “The coverage area of TÜRKSAT 6A, which is planned to be launched on the week of July 8, will go beyond the existing satellites, reaching Southeast Asian countries and providing access to a population of 4.5 billion.”

Minister Kacır shared a post about “TÜRKSAT 6A” on his X social media account with the hashtag “National Technology Move”.

Stating that Turkey is counting the days to commission the national technology platform with the highest value it has produced so far, Kacır made the following assessments:

“Our country, which previously had the opportunity to develop high-resolution imaging satellites with its own capabilities, will be one of the 11 countries that can produce its own communication satellite with TÜRKSAT 6A, all critical components of which are produced domestically. Developed, manufactured and tested by Turkish engineers under the leadership of TÜBİTAK UZAY, in cooperation with TAI, ASELSAN, CTECH and Turkish engineers, TÜRKSAT 6A, which is planned to be launched on July 8, will extend its coverage beyond the existing satellites and reach Southeast Asian countries, thus providing access to a population of 4.5 billion people. Our indigenous communication satellite, which will be used for both civilian and military communication and will be in orbit for more than 15 years, is of strategic importance for our country and will make great contributions to the satellite and space projects we will carry out in the future.”
