US Secretary of State Antony Blinken faced a protest from a pro-Palestinian demonstrator during testimony on the State Department’s budget request before the House Appropriations Committee’s Foreign Operations and Related Programs Subcommittee. “You need to arrest Blinken, not me,” the protester shouted.

After being protested in the Senate yesterday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was protested in the House of Representatives today. Blinken, whose speech in the Senate was frequently interrupted by protests yesterday, was protested by a pro-Palestinian demonstrator during his speech before the House Appropriations Committee’s Foreign Operations and Related Programs Subcommittee.

The protester stood up from the audience during Blinken’s speech and said, “The lies, greed and hypocrisy of our democracy have been exposed. Free Palestine for the freedom of us all.”

Detained by security, the protester shouted, “Free Palestine for the freedom of us all! All struggles for freedom are interconnected. You should arrest Blinken, not me. You need to arrest Blinken, not me.”
Blinken waited for the demonstrator to be removed from the hall to continue his speech.

Blinken was also protested in the Senate yesterday

Blinken was protested yesterday by a pro-Palestinian group during his testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The demonstrators, whose hands were painted red to represent the blood of Palestinians killed by Israel, called Blinken a “war criminal”, “genocide minister”, “butcher with blood on his hands” and “the blood of 40,000 Palestinians on his hands”. Blinken waited for the demonstrators to be removed from the hall to continue his speech.
