Social Security Institution (SSI) announced the Project to Support Registered Women Employment. Within the scope of the project, 15 thousand 925 TL support will be given. Hürriyet Newspaper writer Noyan Doğan said that the Project for Supporting Registered Women’s Employment is a financial support application co-financed by the European Union and carried out by the SSI, and explained the details of the project in question.
Stating that 4 thousand female employers and 4 thousand female employees will benefit from the implementation, Doğan included details on the subject in his article titled “4 thousand women will hire 4 thousand women and the state will support them”.
The project will be implemented in 7 provinces: Istanbul, Ankara, Denizli, Ankara, Samsun, Kahramanmaraş, Şanlıurfa. In this context, 900 quotas have been allocated in Ankara, 1,000 in Istanbul, 500 in Samsun and 400 in other provinces.
The aim is to support women’s employment in small-scale and young businesses owned by women entrepreneurs within the scope of the project to be implemented in 7 provinces. Thus, by supporting women’s employment, women will remain in employment and women who gain experience will continue to work.
4 thousand women will benefit
Within the scope of the project, financial support will be provided to 4 thousand women employers in the provinces who meet the necessary conditions. The total amount of financial support is 25 million euros. The amount of support to be given to employers who are entitled to financial support will not exceed 65 percent of the total cost of one worker to the employer and will be up to the net minimum wage, which is 15,925 liras per month.
During the project implementation period, financial support will be provided to an average of 4 thousand women employers for 20 months. This means that the total support amount will be 318,500 liras. At the beginning of 2024, with the increase in the minimum wage, this support amount will increase even more.
So, which businesses and which employees will benefit from the support? The primary conditions are that the employers who will apply for grant support must be women, and at least two partners must be women in partnered businesses. Businesses that will benefit from the support must have been established after March 2021 and employ a maximum of 9 workers. Female employers will be able to apply for a grant for an additional female employee.
Grant support will be provided
The hired female employee must be employed in addition to the average number of employees in the previous year. The total premium debt of the female employer to the SSI will not exceed the gross minimum wage (20 thousand TL). The additional female employment will be maintained as long as the grant is received. In order to benefit from the grant support, the employer must continue to meet the application conditions of the project every month and make the salary and premium payments of the employee on time, which will be carried out by the SSI.
