Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport broke a record in the number of passengers and flights this holiday due to the 9-day holiday and the start of the school summer vacation.
Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (ISG), the second busiest airport in Turkey and the 9th busiest airport in Europe, reached its highest daily passenger and flight numbers to date with the intensity of the holiday return.
On June 23, 132,550 passengers entered and exited the airport, while the number of aircraft landings and take-offs was 725.
All preparations and measures taken to ease the passenger circulation at the airport ahead of the expected intensity were put into practice, providing great comfort to the guests.
Additional planning for operations, security and cleaning, the deployment of additional personnel and the improvement works carried out within the terminal have accelerated the processing processes of passengers and made it easier for them to reach their gates without any problems.
Especially the revision works at international passport control points, security passes and E-passport counter areas made the journey easier for international travelers.
More than 1 million passengers used Sabiha Gökçen Airport in 9 days

As the return to Istanbul intensified on Sunday, we saw record-breaking activity at our terminal. The all-time record for the number of flights and passengers was broken. I would like to thank all my colleagues and business partners who contributed to this success and worked devotedly before and during the holiday to meet the expected intensity and to offer our guests an excellent travel experience.
