Bahtınur Gül, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at a young age and under treatment in Erzurum, held on to life more with the items she made with waste materials.
Bahtınur Gül from Erzurum, who created dozens of practical products, especially ornaments, by evaluating dozens of kinds of waste from egg boxes to plastic containers, onion nets to leftover cloths, opened her fourth solo exhibition at Çifte Minareli Madrasa. The items created by Bahtınur Gül, who evaluated the waste and garbage at home from the treatment process of bipolar disorder, surprised those who saw them.
Bahtınur Gül, who stated that she organizes exhibitions both to contribute to the family budget and to support aid organizations, said, “I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of 21. But I never gave up on life and 9 years ago I started to make various things by evaluating waste. I evaluate whatever goes to waste at home. I create pencil cases, bag containers, key holders and many other things with my own designs. Thus, I reduce the damage of waste to the environment and evaluate waste.”
