Deputy CB Deputy Cevdet Yılmaz responded to the allegations that withholding tax will be levied on rental income. “There is no such thing in our current work,” Yılmaz said.
Responding to claims that withholding tax will be levied on rental income, Yılmaz said, “There is no such thing in our current work. We already have a system that stipulates that rents over 500 liras be deposited through banks. Therefore, there is no such issue in our current work.”
Calling on citizens not to rely on speculation, Yılmaz emphasized that the aim of the tax package is to ensure fairness in taxation.
“DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU HAVE NOT HEARD FROM AUTHORIZED PERSONS”
Yılmaz said, “My advice to citizens would be this. They should not rely on things they have not heard from authorized persons and institutions. Our main framework is clear. We definitely have a great sensitivity towards large social segments. We want these regulations to be based on tax justice.”
Yılmaz also said that technical work on the new tax package is ongoing and that they aim to submit the bill to parliament before the recess.
