The Governor of the Tahoua Region, Colonel Major Oumarou Tawayé, signed a decree setting the date for the recovery of fields in the Tahoua Region.
In the implementation of Article 34 of Regulation No. 2010-029 dated May 20, regarding the need for good integration between pastoralism and agriculture and livestock, the release date for rain-fed crop fields has been set as December 31, 2024.
Furthermore, a directive has been issued warning that any violation of this regulatory measure will be subject to the strict enforcement of the current laws and regulations. It also pointed out that no damage caused by animals on rain-fed crop fields after December 31, 2024, would lead to compensation.
However, remains from current crops on non-rain-fed crops and rain-fed sand fields must be protected by the landowner.
