Despite the overall decline in car sales in May, some brands achieved significant sales thanks to destocking campaigns and fleet sales.
Until July 7, campaigns and fleet sales, which were activated to melt stocks, determined the performances of automobile brands. There were remarkable developments in automobile sales in May. Especially some brands stood out by increasing their sales significantly.
Some brands on the rise
In May, overall automobile sales fell by 8.19% compared to the same period of the previous year and remained at 80,260 units. However, some brands managed to increase their sales significantly despite this downward trend. Chery stood out with an increase of 76.92%, Skoda with 50.85% and TOGG with 1252.94%.
Automobile market in January-May period
In the January-May period, the automobile market sold 375,097 units with an increase of 10.25% compared to the same period of the previous year. Renault maintained its leadership in this period and reached 47,288 sales. Chery made the biggest leap with an increase of 387.27%. Fiat, on the other hand, drew attention with a 42.01% decline.
