According to the research of Istanbul Planning Agency (IPA), the average cost of living for a family of four in Istanbul was calculated as 61 thousand 523 lira. The cost of living increased by 2 thousand 189 lira compared to last month.
Looking at the price increases of basic consumption items compared to May of the previous year, it was seen that one of the highest price increases was in lentil prices with an increase of 116.54 percent.
There were also significant increases in hygiene products. According to the survey, the price increase in cleaning and care products for laundry was 219.58 percent, while toilet paper increased by 134.44 percent and cleaning and care products for laundry by 122.26 percent.
