The identities of the two pilots who were martyred in the SF-260D type training plane of the Air Force Command that crashed after taking off from Kayseri 12th Air Transportation Main Base Command for training have been determined.
At around 10:00 am in Kayseri, an SF-260D type training aircraft of the Air Force Command, which took off from Kayseri 12th Air Transportation Main Base Command for training, crashed near Hasanarpa Neighborhood of Kocasinan district for an unknown reason. While two pilots on the training plane were martyred, a large number of gendarmerie, police, AFAD, fire brigade and health teams were dispatched to the region. The teams reached the wreckage of the plane, extinguished the fire that broke out in the plane, while the bodies of the two martyred pilots were taken to Kayseri State Hospital morgue. Teams continue to examine the wreckage of the plane.

On the other hand, the identities of the two martyred pilots have also been determined. Air Pilot Colonel Uğur Yıldız and Air Pilot Colonel Gökhan Özen were martyred in the downed plane. Yaşar Güler, Minister of National Defense, also issued a condolence message and said, “Our heroic comrades-in-arms were martyred on June 4. On behalf of myself and the members of the Ministry of National Defense, I wish God’s mercy to our heroic martyrs, condolences and patience to their grieving families and our noble nation.”
