The General Directorate of Turkish Grain Board (TMO) reported that over 1 million tons of wheat and barley have been purchased from producers since May 14.
TMO’s social media account shared a statement regarding grain purchases.
In the statement, which reminded that the Grain Purchase Campaign for this year started on May 14, the following was recorded:
“Our grain purchasing activity is carried out intensively at more than 600 purchasing points, including our workplaces throughout the country and licensed warehouses with signed protocols. In this context, more than 1 million tons of wheat and barley have been purchased from our producers so far. Having reached the highest purchase amount in its history by purchasing 13.1 million tons of products in the last purchase period, our Agency has completed its preparations to purchase 13 million tons this year. All wheat and barley registered in the Farmer Registration System of our producers will be purchased. The payment of product prices will continue periodically and our purchasing activities will continue intensively.
