Turkish Airlines (THY) Press Counselor Yahya Üstün made a statement on his social media account regarding Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu’s visit to Rome.
Üstün said, “The trip of Mr. Mayor and his delegation to Rome did not take place with a scheduled flight, and upon the request of Turkish Airlines, our Boeing-737 aircraft was allocated by charter method.”

“We would like to clarify the statements that a scheduled flight was allocated for the Rome flights of Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Mayor of IBB, and his delegation. The trip of Mr. Mayor and his delegation to Rome did not take place on a scheduled flight, and our Boeing-737 aircraft was allocated by charter upon the request of Turkish Airlines. There is no such situation as allocating a scheduled flight to a private delegation. It is respectfully announced to the public.”
