Turan: Expected to bring 100 trillion dollars of added value to the world economy

Orhan Turan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD), said: “Digital transformation is expected to bring 100 trillion dollars of added value to the world economy by 2025. The potential economic contribution that can be created by the increase in productivity provided by digital transformation in Turkey is calculated as 270 billion dollars by 2030.”

In his speech at the “Transformation Congress” organized by Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality at the Avlu Congress and Culture Center, Turan said that as TUSİAD, they attach great importance to the local organizations of the business world.

Stating that the competitiveness of countries, companies and cities has started to be determined by the ability to adapt to digital and green transformation, Turan said:

“Today, we cannot consider an efficient and sustainable ecosystem management apart from the vision of ‘twin transformation’, the momentum and power of this transformation. Countries that fail to realize this vision will not be lucky in the global competition race, and the speed at which cities adapt to these transformations will determine their vitality. Digital transformation is expected to bring 100 trillion dollars of added value to the world economy by 2025. In Turkey, the potential economic contribution that can be created by the increase in productivity provided by digital transformation is calculated as 270 billion dollars by 2030.”

Turan added that cities will face new opportunities with green transformation.

Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş also made a speech by connecting to the program via video. Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem İmamoğlu also addressed the audience with a recorded video.

At the end of the program, Mayor of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Ahmet Akın spoke about the final declaration and said that they will make the city the pearl of Turkey.
