Deputy President Cevdet Yılmaz was the first to comment on Turkey’s removal from the gray list of the Financial Action Force (FATF). Speaking to Bloomberg, Yılmaz said, “Our resource inflow will accelerate and borrowing costs will decrease.”

Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek’s statement “We did it” from Singapore, where he traveled for the FATF meeting, created excitement. Şimşek’s message was interpreted as Turkey being removed from FATF’s gray list.

Raja Kumar, Chairman of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), held a press conference today at 12:00 TSI to announce the results of the General Assembly. Kumar officially announced that Turkey was removed from the gray list.

Upon this development, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz shared his first comment with Bloomberg. “Our resource inflow will accelerate, borrowing cost will decrease,” Yılmaz said.

Cevdet Yılmaz’s assessment on his X (Twitter) account is as follows:

* Thanks to the action plan we have completed for the prevention of money laundering and financing of terrorism, Turkey has been removed from the gray list today.

* With this development, the confidence of international investors in the financial system of our country has been further strengthened. The decision will have extremely positive consequences for both our financial and real sectors.

* Turkey ‘s removal from the gray list will accelerate the inflow of international resources and have a positive impact on borrowing costs.

* With the acceleration of capital flows to our country, increased interest in Turkish lira assets will also accelerate the disinflation process.

* We would like to thank all institutions and organizations that contributed to this process, especially the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.
