World’s Youngest Universities: 2 universities from Turkey in the top 100

UK-based Times Higher Education (THE) published the World Young Universities Ranking for 2024.

There are 19 universities from Turkey in the top 500. The highest ranking in the list belongs to Koç University with 52nd place.

In the list of the world’s best universities aged 50 and under, 673 universities from 79 countries that meet the necessary criteria were evaluated.

According to 2024 data, Koç University and Sabancı University took place in the top 100. Koç University’s ranking was determined as 52 and Sabancı University’s ranking was determined as 54.

The universities from Turkey in the top 500 of the Times Higher Education list are as follows:

  • Koç University, Sabancı University, Bilkent University, Bahçeşehir University, Çankaya University, Özyeğin University, Akdeniz University, Necmettin Erbakan University, TOBB University of Economics and Technology, Bartın University, Fırat University, Istanbul Bilgi University, Bezmiâlem Foundation University, Dokuz Eylül University, Düzce University, Erciyes University, Gebze Technical University, Istanbul Medeniyet University, Izmir Institute of Technology, Selçuk University, Van Yüzüncü Yıl University.

Universities to be included in the World Young Universities Ranking are evaluated in terms of their teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook missions.

According to the 2024 results, 2 Turkish universities were ranked in the top 100, 19 in the 101-500 range, 20 in the 501-600 range and 17 in 600+.
