Consumers Union President Mahmut Şahin also made an important statement regarding the citizens whose vehicles were damaged due to hail. This is not the first time we have encountered this hail. There is no reason to say, “It is raining hail from the sky, this is something interesting”. Hail is a natural phenomenon that falls every year, and its intensity and size are constantly warned by the meteorology. Since this is not the first time we have encountered it, everyone who produces whatever they produce, be it glass manufacturers, car manufacturers, awning manufacturers or paving stones or roofs. The production of all of these must be done by taking into account hail, rain and even air temperature.
There are countries in the world where the temperature is minus 50 degrees. There are also countries with a temperature of plus 50 degrees. Are cars, fuel, freezing temperatures the same in both, no. You have to build accordingly. Now this hail event is reported by the meteorology. Roofs were blown off in the storm. The responsibility there belonged to the company and was taken from them. There are a lot of precedent decisions. In fact, not only the flying roof, but also the damage to the other damaged building and vehicles were repaired. This is the same thing, there is no difference. If there is damage due to hail, this is shown as a precedent decision and demanded from the car company.”
